Live art on stage and on the street?

On-stage, to the beat with bands, Artist Jonqui heightens live music entertainment, capturing the spirit of the music and artists in big, fast live caricatures and cutouts.

As “roving portrait entertainer” her quick art sketches and wire demos excite event goers. She gets guests laughing and talking, activating fundraiser donations and lasting good time memories.

Creating in fast-paced public venues, like festivals, fundraisers, clubs and events, applies Jonqui’s natural, fast drawing skills and illustration experience, plus, background in urban multimedia nightclub installations and event promoter.

Jonqui’s wire art, sculptures and décor designs and are spirited by the energy from her live action art. These uniquely meaningful works expand art appreciation.

Just, picture this… a wire portrait of you, a loved one, horse or pet. Now see this image bypassing flat wall hanging limitations. Watch it create active shadow drawings as a wire mobile and as decorative room lighting.

Fundraiser performances and enrichment program teaching attract Jonqui’s desire for contributing to global community and the joy of original creative imagination. Her afterschool and adult class-activities with individualized attention have resulted in inspired creative expression, more participation and greater self confidence.

Jonqui’s Cartoon Theater and Sculpture Party enrichment curriculums are in consideration for adaptation to Hospice bereavement programs for kids and families.

From Los Angeles and San Francisco, Jonqui is now based in her Sonoma studio, north of San Francisco. In addition to live art event gigs, Jonqui now works with interior designers and architects creating home and commercial lighting and décor wire installations. Current classes offered are brief studio invitational sessions in Vision Drawing and Wire Art, held just before the weekly Studio Drawing Group. This provides opportunity to test drive new tricks. Where it all started:
More background info …

Live art performing began for Jonqui as chalk drawings for groups of friends and church programs while in elementary school. She began teaching art and design and production of stage sets when given her own art building as a high school senior. After attending California Arts Institute, she continued creating conceptual participatory installation art and events in Venice, California. Pieces were shown in popular Los Angeles Melrose and Topanga galleries. Before moving north from San Francisco, Jonqui was a storyboard artist and video producer for animation companies with fortune 500 clients. She won media attention a designer, producer and promoter of her multimedia nightclub installation events and an infotainment art video magazine programs distributed to clubs and hotels.

Jonqui’s classes in Cartoon Theater and Sculpture Party and/or Wire Art, Vision Drawing began while working in the Education Room at the Charles Schultz Museum, Santa Rosa, California, where she inspired staff with her theme big white board sketches of Peanuts characters doing things they never did before. And, she inspired museum-goers families from home and travelers from abroad to create their own original characters and stories. Off-site, in Sonoma County schools, and at the museum, outside museum hours she taught her version of intuitive teaching to bus loads of school kids. Teaching venues to follow were Petaluma Arts Association, Boys and Girls Club, Sonoma Adult School, Sonoma Community Center Summer Camp, Sonoma Mentor Program, Reily Street Art Supply and private groups.
